I fell again,
Slipping from the window
Down the wall;
Grasping for the sill,
An impulse of panicked hope
Too fast for the drag of despair.
He caught me again;
This time in slender metal fingers
(Suspending me above the deck,
Breathlessly writhing,
Squirming like an inch worm)
He saved my head again
{a hard salvation }
From a slow, unresponsive life
Of dull pain
And a slobbering humiliation.
Now, a week later,
I am limping again.
My leg is full of beautiful
Color patterns suitable for framing.
